Jogging Through Jello!

Dear Friends,

As today’s blog post title implies, I’ve been dragging big-time the past week. Maybe my fatigue is due to the drastic cut in sugar I made last month, maybe it’s perimenopause making its spooky debut, maybe it’s a thyroid issue—maybe it’s all three! In any case, I’m sick of it, so I made an appointment with my doctor to get checked out.

Have you ever wanted to write for BP Magazine?

You guys & gals are fab writers so I wanted to share this info. with you. Last week I emailed BP’s longtime editor Liz Forbes (who I recently worked with on my article) and got back this auto-reply:

Please be advised that Tanya Hvilivitzky has taken the role of bp Magazine &
esperanza’s interim editor. Tanya will respond to your email and editorial
questions ASAP.

We thank you for your patience during this transitional phase.

If you’ve ever wanted to pitch BP an article idea, now’s the time to come up with your idea. (look at the BP website here for their guidelines) and write it down.

I’ll let you know if I find out anything as far as who the permanent hire will be—I could be totally wrong, but I don’t see a problem with pitching to an interim editor.

Then again, I’ve only written for ten magazines since 1997. Please let me know if you think otherwise! Do what feels right!  The email is used is: editor@hopetocope.com

Lose It! Update

(And no, I don’t get compensated by mentioning Lose It! – ha! I wish!!!)

Do you want to drop some lovely adipose tissue (a.k.a. fat) you don’t need dragging you down? Even 5 lbs is an awfully HEAVY load to carry around – pick up anything that weighs 5 lbs and you’ll see what I mean.

Join me & my friend, the blogger Kitt O’Malley, in the free Lose It! program. We’re in the “Bipolar Battlers” community group which you can find on the Lose It! website under “Community.” Let me know if you have questions.

By the way, you don’t need to be in a group; you can go solo or create your own group – visit this link to make it happen!

    • Thanks so much for your comment & kind wishes! I’m actually feeling surprising better with the fatigue, but a new challenge has entered the picture. A freaky one. :((( I’ll write about it on Friday, Feb. 16th – hope you’ll stop by!

  1. Hi Dyane,
    How’d I miss this one?
It gets awfully dark here in January, and it affects all of us. Sorry to hear about the fatigue. And I hope it’s temporary!
Love your pics of the local parks! Looks like Fall Creek!
    xox,
    Carol

  2. Ugh, Jogging through Jello is right! I finally finished my first round of edits last night after four weeks of hard-core rewrites and student nonsense. Here’s hoping taking down the Christmas decorations will get me moving this weekend! 😛 xxxxxxxxxxxx

  3. Sorry to hear that. So have I. I started a new thyroid medication so hopefully that’ll help soon. Happy to hear you’re seeing the doctor soon!

  4. Sorry you’ve been in the shits, so to say. It SUCKS to be sluggish. Good for you for making a doctor’s appointment!!! You don’t waste any time, girlfriend!! Hope things improve STAT!! I am kind of in the shits but trying and trying to boost the mood with all the tools I can think of. Sending you heaps of loves ❤ ❤ ❤

  5. Hi Dyane! Thinking of you and hoping all goes well with your health check. Hope you get back your get up and go again soon. Me, I feel like hibernating until March – I could do with a Lucy to get me outdoors! xxx

  6. I’ve been sluggish, too. That you’ve still walked is GREAT. Thanks for the mention & link. Again, congrats on the BP Hope article (as well as the many other magazine articles published).

    • Cass, thanks for the well wishes and you would write the BEST articles for them!!!! The magazine would be ***lucky*** to have a talented writer such as you!. I’ve read BP for years and you have better writing chops than 99% of its contributors/journalists. Let me know if you give it a whirl! 🙂

      • Awww, Dyane! Thank you so much for the vote of confidence! I really appreciate that! I might very well try. Let me know if you get something published by them as well!

  7. Dearest Lady Dy, I’m so sorry about your low energy level, hope your doctor will find the cause and remedy it soon!
Your blogpost, however is very energetic and captivating as usual!!
    Love and hugs.

    • Aww, thank you beautiful Lady Samina! At least I still walk Lucy most nights and that totally revives me. We went for a whopping 45 minutes last night in heavy mist (wannabe rain!) and we both were so perky! She can usually just walk 20-30 minutes max, so it was a big deal for her to do that.

I would actually like it if my thyroid showed anything “off” (as long as it’s not SERIOUS, right????) because that could be solved more easily than a lot of other things. It’s the weird things I’m reading about in a cook called “Fix Your Fatigue” by Dr. Evan Hirsch which freaks me out….he discusses mold, metals, etc. I’ll keep you posted, my beautiful friend. XOXOXOXO YOU!

      • Dearest Lady Di, sorry for the late response, been helping packing up a dear one for their move. Both of us have to keep going. Yes thyroid, especially hypothyroid is the easiest to treat with Synthroid. Yes please let me know what’s happening. With lots of love and many hugs! 💖🤗💖🤗

I'd love to hear from you!
